Rendering happens in your browser. Documents are kept on this device with IndexedDB, and nothing is sent to a MarkdownPaper server because the reader does not need one. When a document is ready, Print removes the interface and sets real page margins for a PDF you can send.

How do I view a .md file online without installing anything?

Choose a file on this page, drop one into the window, or paste Markdown. The document is rendered in your browser and is not uploaded.

Does it handle tables, footnotes, math, and diagrams?

Yes. It supports GitHub Flavored Markdown, tables, footnotes, task lists, syntax-highlighted code, KaTeX math, and Mermaid diagrams. The Markdown cheat sheet shows each one as source and result.

Can I edit with a live Markdown preview?

Yes. Press E to edit, then choose the split view to write with the source beside a live preview of the page. Reading stays the default.

Where are my documents stored?

The web app stores recent documents in IndexedDB in your browser. Your files stay on your device and survive a normal browser restart.

Can I save a PDF?

Yes. Use Print and choose “Save as PDF.” The print layout removes the app interface and applies document-friendly page margins.
